The Origin of the School

Cademuir International School, founded in 1990, aims to provide an environment in which young people of high ability and creative talent can achieve their full potential.

The School has a strong European philosophy and prepares students for entry to universities and colleges in the United Kingdom and elsewhere in Europe.  The School's objective is to promote the achievement of full potential for all pupils, by offering acceleration and support, according to individual need.

Cademuir was created with the specific objective of providing comprehensive education for children of high ability and for under-achievers with high potential.  At Cademuir, our aim is to ensure that every young person who joins the school benefits from tertiary education appropriate to his/her interests, individual needs and career aspirations.

Cademuir is a specialist school.  Its ethos, small size and small teaching groups with individual learning make it an ideal environment in which exceptional children can progress and achieve their full potential.  It is our policy to focus on the whole child.  For this reason, curricula are vertically structured, to offer both acceleration and support, according to individual need.  We place particular emphasis on community values and the development of academically informed and socially rounded individuals, equipped to take up places in universities and colleges throughout Europe.
